Phoney Compassion

Drowning in a vat of warm maple syrup isn't a pleasant way to die but that's just what I feel like when I read that one of the participants in the "same-sex" marriage started to cry after the ceremony and also when I read about the Mexican woman who stayed with a clergyman and his wife.  When he was interviewed on FOX, he talked about our need for "compassion".
It's about time that someone blew the cover of the "compassion addicts" by telling the truth: "compassion" in many instances is just a slick power grab.
The argument usually goes, "if you are not compassionate in this instance, then you are a sub-human cretan"
The truth is that too much compassion leads to weakness and,  more importantly, a loss of dignity in human beings.  It undermines the ability of human beings to see reality and act accordingly.
I feel compassion for homosexuals but trying to "fix" the situation by making homosexual marriage legal is folly.
I feel compassion for Mexicans but why can't they organize a movement in their own country and fix it?
One of the greatest human delusions is that we can create a utopia, which in Greek means, "nowhere".
